From the middle of June to the beginning of September in 1998, the torrential rain in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River and the watershed of Songhuajiang and Nenjiang caused a serious flood disaster which killed thousands of people and caused tremendous loss of property. CICC and staff donated RMB 1,100,000 to China Charity Federation for the ravaged regions to support the flood-fighting and rehabilitation efforts.
