With the aim of protecting the environment and natural resources and supporting the greening efforts in the capital, CICC claimed a 60,000 square-meter green space at 2# Southern Zone in Beijing Olympic Forest Park before the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.  This green space, therefore, was named as “CICC Youth Wood”.

In July 2008, CICC organized a voluntary labor day for the newcomers in the CICC Youth Wood.
