"China REACH• Nimu County in Tibet" Project Holds a Full Coverage Launching Ceremony

A few days ago, Yin Na and Lai Shanshan, employees of CICC and CICC Charity Foundation respectively, attended the full coverage launching ceremony of the "China REACH• Nyemo County in Tibet" project. Fang Jin, Secretary General of China Development Research Foundation, Pema Yangchen, President of the Tibetan Maternal and Child Health Association, and Liu Zhao, Member of the Standing Committee of the County Party Committee and Deputy County Mayor also attended the ceremony.

After the launching ceremony, CICC representatives conducted household surveys for the beneficiary children in Nyemo County, and presented books, educational toys and other items to the home interviewers and children.

Since the official launch of Nyemo's "China REACH" project in November 2018, 84 supervisors and home interviewers have been recruited, and more than 50,000 home visits have been made providing more than 60 minutes of tutoring per visit. The number of children covered by this project has grown from the initial 313 in two townships in 2018 to 1,260 in six townships and two towns across the county. With accumulated experience in practical work, the intervention skills and quality of the home interviewers have been continuously improved to produce enhanced beneficial effects. Thanks to the efforts of all parties, the project when finished will be able to cover all school age children from 6 to 36 months in the county.
