CICC Attends the 10th Arab-China Business Conference

On 11th-12th June 2023, the CICC delegation attended the 10th Arab-China Business Conference in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, including Barry Chan, Head of Investment Banking, Hong Kong, CICC and Head of Asia Australia region, CICC International, Yazen Alkhudairy, Head of CICC West Asia preparatory team and Chuan Huang, Deputy Head of CICC West Asia preparatory team.

The Arab-China Business Conference is jointly organised by the Ministry of Investment of Saudi Arabia, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, the League of Arab States, the Union of Arab Chambers of Commerce, and the Saudi Investment Promotion Agency. Founded in 2004, the Conference aims to drive greater collaboration between China and the Arab League, to deepen economic ties between these two regions.

Barry Chan spoke at the panel discussion on “Financial Sector Power Arab-China Business Growth”, with senior representatives from other Chinese financial institutions.

Barry emphasised that Chinese financial institutions are increasingly important in facilitating cross-border investments between China and Arab countries, particularly in priority sectors such as renewable energy and electric vehicles.
