Vice-Premier Ma Kai Addresses UK-China Business Dinner; CICC Attends as Sponsor
On November 10, 2016 local time, Vice-Premier of the People’s Republic of China Ma Kai and Chancellor of the Exchequer Philip Hammond of the UK co-chaired the eighth China-UK Economic and Financial Dialogue (EFD) in London. Ma Kai also attended and addressed the UK-China Business Dinner after the Dialogue. China International Capital Corporation Limited (CICC) attended the banquet as one of the sponsors, together with its distinguished guests and top clients.
EFD is an important dialogue between China and UK on economic issues. In the current round of EFD, the two sides conducted candid and in-depth discussions on such topics as macroeconomic situation and policy, trade and investment and market access, the development of financial services and financial market, infrastructure and industrial strategies, achieving 63 outcomes.
Ma Kai reaffirmed the general direction of the “golden era” of China-UK relations in his keynote speech and pointed out that EFD is a high-level mechanism that leads the economic and financial cooperation between the two countries.
Ding Xuedong, Chairman of CICC, attended the banquet with some 240 business leaders from China and UK.
Lord Sassoon Kt, Chairman of China-Britain Business Council (CBBC) which organized the banquet with other institutions, highly praised the strength of CICC as a leading investment bank with the aim of "Chinese Roots, International Reach" and extended his thanks to the firm. Through this event, CICC strengthened its ties with CBBC and the China-UK business community, which will potentially usher in more opportunities and cooperation.
