Dr. Kissinger Attends Luncheon on Hot Issues in Development

The 38th Luncheon on Hot Issues in Development jointly organized by China Development Research Foundation (CDRF) and China International Capital Corporation Limited (CICC) was successfully held at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing on December 1, 2016 with the theme of “Sino-US Relation and Outlook for US Economic Polices”. At the invitation of CDRF, Dr. Henry Kissinger, former US Secretary of State and Chairman of Kissinger Associates, Inc.; and Dr. Min Zhu, former Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and Vice Chairman of China International Finance Society, attended the luncheon and delivered speeches respectively.

An old friend of China, Dr. Kissinger accepted with alacrity the invitation of the CDRF in September to attend the luncheon and meet his old friends in China. Everyone was very happy to see the 93 year-old Doctor’s coming.

Lu Mai, Secretary-General of the CDRF, hosted the luncheon. More than 70 distinguished guests from central ministries and commissions, prestigious universities and large enterprises attended the luncheon.

CICC has forged a long and close cooperative relationship with the CDRF. Since 2007, the two sides have jointly held regular luncheons on domestic and international economic and social hot issues.
