CICC Hong Kong Celebrates Its 20th Anniversary

China International Capital Corporation (Hong Kong) Limited (CICC Hong Kong), a wholly owned subsidiary of China International Capital Corporation Limited (CICC or “the Company”, 3908.HK), marked its 20th anniversary on September 12, 2017 in Hong Kong with more than 200 distinguished guests attending the celebration banquet.

The honored guests included Vice-Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Leung Chun-ying, Financial Secretary of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Paul Chan Mo-po and Chairman of the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) Chung-kong Chow.

Bi Mingjian, Chief Executive Officer of CICC, extended deep gratitude to Hong Kong regulatory authorities, competent authorities, clients and personalities of all circles for their consistent support and help. He said: “CICC Hong Kong is an important platform for the Company’s international expansion through which CICC has built up its global network covering major financial centers including New York, London and Singapore and has established its international reputation. In the past 20 years, CICC has assisted more than 90 mainland enterprises in listing on the Hong Kong market, raising USD150 billion in funds and promoting the transformation of the Chinese enterprises. During this process, CICC Hong Kong has grown into a No. 1 cross-border business platform among Chinese securities firms. ”

Mr. Leung Chun-ying said at the banquet that “born in the same year as the HKSAR, CICC Hong Kong, along with the HKSAR, has witnessed the continuous reform and opening up of the nation and its rapid development in the past 20 years; it has also seen the growing of Hong Kong’s financial sector. I give my best wishes to CICC Hong Kong for a thriving future taking advantage of the platform of Hong Kong and its role as a super coordinator”.

Mr. Paul Chan Mo-po said in his speech that “CICC represents a successful example of ‘Going Out’ via Hong Kong among mainland enterprises. Growing up sturdily with the HKSAR, CICC Hong Kong has cultivated a close relationship with the Hong Kong capital markets and has become a leader in Hong Kong’s financial community.”

Mr. Chung-kong Chow said: “CICC has made great contribution to the Hong Kong capital markets. Here I express appreciation to you on behalf of the HKEX and wish you greater success in the years ahead.”

CICC Hong Kong was established in 1997, the first PRC securities firm conducting securities underwriting business in Hong Kong. Till now, CICC Hong Kong has established a full-service business model consisting of investment banking, equities, FICC, wealth management, investment management and research with a wide and high quality client base. Looking forward, leveraging its brand and cross-border advantages, CICC Hong Kong is prepared to play a greater role in connecting the domestic and overseas capital markets by strengthening its integrated services capability, seizing the historic opportunities presented by the connectivity between the mainland and the Hong Kong markets.
