The Belt & Road Trade and Investment Forum, jointly held by China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), China Chamber of International Commerce (CCOIC) and the World Chambers Federation (WCF), opened in Beijing on April 12, 2018. China International Capital Corporation Limited (CICC) attended the forum as a member of the China Committee for Silk Road Business Council. Dr. Chu Gang, COO of CICC, gave remarks at the event.

Over 700 business representatives, scholars and government officials from 70 countries and regions have met to brainstorm on how to enhance cooperation in infrastructure, trade, investment as well as financial services. Gao Yunlong, vice chairperson of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and chairman of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, and representatives from Ministry of Commerce and National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), were present at the event and made speeches.

As an investment bank with the vision of “Chinese Roots, International Reach”, CICC has been actively supporting and engaging in Belt & Road Initiative. Dr. Chu Gang participated in “Finance and Economic Development” panel of the forum and shared his views on how financial products would support economic development of the B&R countries, which earned high appreciation.
