The 5th Luncheon on Hot Issues in Development (Hong Kong) Successfully Held

CICC and China Development Research Foundation (CDRF) jointly held the 5th Luncheon on Hot Issues in Development (Hong Kong) at Island Shangri-La, Hong Kong on December 10, 2018. Bi Mingjian, CEO of CICC, and Lu Mai, Secretary-General of the CDRF, delivered welcome speeches at the Luncheon.  Around 60 distinguished guests were present.

The keynote speaker of this year’s Luncheon was Guan Tao, senior fellow of the China Finance 40 Forum and member of the Chinese Economist 50 Forum. He shared his insights on the recent movements of international exchange rates and discussed the topic with the guests.

Bi Mingjian said in his speech that the changes of exchange rates had drawn wide attention recently, which both reflected and affected cross-border capital flows, and even had the potential to have an effect on economic trends as well as the development of domestic and foreign capital markets. He stressed that based in Hong Kong, CICC had established a cross-border business platform covering investment banking, equities, FICC, wealth management, investment management, and research. CICC is well-positioned to provide high quality cross-border capital market services for domestic and overseas clients.

The Luncheon is a forum held irregularly since 2012 which focuses on hot issues emerging in global and Chinese economy. Experts in various fields and political and business elites in Hong Kong are invited to discuss these issues at the forum.
