CICC was invited to attend the Future Investment Initiative (“FII”) 6th Edition on 25th-27th October 2022 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The forum was hosted by Future Investment Initiative Institute (“FII Institute”) and convened the world’s foremost CEOs, policymakers, investors, entrepreneurs, and young leaders to shape the future of international investment and the global economy. The FII Institute has arranged a series of events under the theme “Investing In Humanity, Enabling a New Global Order”. 

CICC delegates were led by Dr. Gang Chu, Chief Operating Officer and member of the Management Committee. Dr. Hanfeng Wang, Chief Strategist, Managing Director, and Mr. Barry Chan, Managing Director, Head of Investment Banking HK and Head of Asia-Australia Region were invited to attend the forum. 

Dr. Hanfeng Wang represented CICC and spoke in the “China is Back” Session. FDI in China has grown steadily in the first half of 2022. The session discussed on the reasons for China being a key investment ally to be embraced and how can the Western Asia collaborate with China by enhancing its position as an important bridge connecting East and West. Other panelists, including Mr. Nicolas Aguzin, CEO of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing, Mr. Nelson Peltz, Founding Partner of Trian Fund Management, also shared their insights on the topic.
