CCTV Reported on Project at Guzhang County of Hunan Province Funded by CICC Charity Foundation

Recently, China Central Television (CCTV)’s special channel on agriculture, farmers and rural areas reported on the project of “One VillageOne Preschool” in the Guzhang County of Hunan Province funded by the CICC Charity Foundation. The report elaborated on the methods to popularize preschool education in the mountainous areas in the central and western parts of China. Han Weiqiang, Vice Chairman of the CICC Charity Foundation, expressed the firm attitude of CICC and the Foundation during the interview to pay closer attention to early childhood education and to assist the vulnerable groups.

According to the report, the left-behind children whose parents go out to work are more likely to indulge in mobile phones. Reporters paid a visit to the site of the “China REACH” project in Guzhang County of Hunan Province funded by the CICC Charity Foundation. As part of the project, professional training programs are carried out for women in rural areas. Qualified by the training, they will be eligible to serve as home visitors to the households of local young children to provide guidance on family rearing, thus mitigating children’s addiction to mobile phones to a certain extent.
